There are different types of bodies and they are classified according to the proportions between shoulders, waist and hips. Find out what your body type is and what type of clothing looks best on you.
All bodies are perfect. But according to proportions, we can classify them into 5 types: triangle, inverted triangle, oval, rectangular and hourglass, in addition to some of their variables.
To find out what kind of body type you have, it’s very important that you measure your body and not only rely on your visual perception, since this can be very subjective. Take the centimeters of the width of your shoulders, your waist and your hips. Now look for your category:
Triangle: your hips are much more prominent than your waist and shoulders, which are quite narrow. In addition, it is usually accompanied by wide thighs, a small bust and a long neck.
Inverted triangle: In this body type your shoulders are wider than your hips, and even your ribs can be somewhat prominent. It is also very common for the measurement of the height from your waist to your neck to be higher than the waist to the hips.
Oval: your waist is somewhat wide compared to your shoulders and hips, which are narrower, giving the illusion that your silhouette is rounded. Also, your bust is prominent and your neck is short.
Rectangle: like the previous one, the waist is wide, but it maintains the same proportion of shoulders and hips.
Hourglass: Your shoulders and hips are in the same proportion and your waist is narrower.
We are going to tell you what kind of clothes would suit you best accordingly to your body type.
TRIANGLE
You can choose clothes that add volume to the upper part of your body. For example, you can wear blouses in bulky fabrics that give the illusion of a larger proportion, as well as being colorful and eye-catching.
INVERTED TRIANGLE
You should make your lower body look fuller and your upper body look smaller. For this, you should use wide, colorful and patterned pants, so that it is the part of your body that most attracts attention. You can also use balloon and pleated skirts.
OVAL
For an oval body type, what you need is to decrease the volume of the center of your figure. The objective will be to mark the waist and lengthen your silhouette. To achieve this, your best allies will be the dresses and V necklines.
RECTANGLE
Similar to the body type above, the rectangular silhouette needs to accentuate the waist. For this, a good idea is to use dress with a belt. Also, an excellent option are A skirts and high-waisted pants.
HOURGLASS
You can take advantage of this type of body and stand out with dresses fitted to your figure. We also advise you to use pencil skirts and high waisted jeans. Finally, jumpsuits will be your strongest garment.
As always, the most important thing is that you feel confident and comfortable in what you are wearing.
